Vacation rental tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking yourrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. A Turtle's Pace: Ocean View, End Unit Condo in Walking Distance of Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
