Tips and Tricks to get the best Sunset Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing your Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Effy's Sunset Serenity Hideaway has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
