Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Seascape Studio : Beach Retreat has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
