Tricks and tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sea View: Oceanview Condo that Comfortably Accommodates up to Twelve has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
