Welcome to your ideal hideaway! This freshly modernized 3-bed, 2-bath home offers a modern and comfortable getaway, with everything you need for a calming vacation. Located on the striking waterway, you'll savor gorgeous vistas and painless access to the beach—just a 3-min. walk away! Golf cart available for rental!

Convenient, central location close to grocery stores, parks, and local eateries!

The space:
We are honored to welcome you to Tide-ings of Joy, a handsome home, inside and out! Located on the 4th row, with an simple 3-min. walk to public beach access. We are sure you will appreciate the convenient location with easy access to eateries, grocery stores, parks and all that Oak Island has to offer! Everything inside the home has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you have all the amenities of home while on your vacation.

The open kitchen is well-equipped with everything you may need such as multiple coffee makers, including a Keurig. Among many other things, you'll also find an air fryer, kids dinnerware, mixing bowls with lids, tupperware, ninja blender, mixer, grilling silverware, wine openers, pots and pans, and yes, sharp knives. There is plenty of seating around the kitchen island and a dedicated workspace, great for setting up a laptop, if needed. Beside the island is also a kid's table, ideal for the little ones!

We think you will especially adore the outside of the home, with different options to appreciate such as upper and lower decks in the front of the home, which are ideal for gathering for your morning coffee, and watching the impressive sunsets in the evening. We appreciate listening to the sound of the ocean while appreciating the rocking chairs and stunning vistas!

Walking out on the back deck, you will see spectacular vistas of the waterway, overlooking a brand new saltwater pool added early in 2025, with a hot tub under the deck! Pool and hot tub are open year-round, although pool is not heated. Outdoor lighting around the pool make this awe-inspiring place to gather in the evening! The private dock is right on the water, ideal for fishing or catching fresh blue crab. You may see the occasional kayaker passing by, and the beautiful native birds doing a little fishing of their own!

There is also a picnic table under the front of the home, which is a great spot for lunches after returning from the beach, or playing cards in the evening. Cornhole boards, beach chairs, cooler, wagon, and kids toys are supplied for use during your stay! A 3-burner propane gas Weber grille is located in the pool area.

Inside, each master bedroom has Queen beds with very comfortable, brand new high-quality pillow-top beds, and hotel quality pillows. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds beds, with very comfortable beds and pillows. Designed with kids in mind, but an adult could also sleep comfortably. Each bedroom has ceiling fans, white noise machines/alarm clocks, dressers and closets with plenty hangers for unpacking during your stay. Box fans are also located in each bedroom closet. The upstairs master bedroom opens directly to the upper deck with striking vistas. You can even see the ocean! Additional soft throw blankets are located throughout the home. The home comfortably sleeps 8, but there is a sleeper couch and a sleeper chair, with additional linens, pillows and blankets, which could accommodate 2 additional guests. 55'' RokuTV in the living room is setup for easy login to your app subscriptions, with limited LiveTV channel options available. Laundry room has full -size washer and dryer.

Full baths are located upstairs and downstairs, each have a bathtub and shower, outfitted with plenty of towels, washcloths, hand soap, bodywash shampoo and conditioner. Free travel-size toiletries are also supplied.

Our favorite way to get around the island is to hop in the 6-seater golf cart, equipped with long-range lithium battery, which is available to rent for your stay! Much of Oak Island is accessible by golf cart, with local regulations accepting travel on roads that are posted 35mph or less. We appreciate taking it to local eateries and ice cream stores, or simply to use as a super easy way to get to and from the beach. Highly recommend taking a drive down to "The Point" on the west end of the Island to watch memorable sunsets! Please let us know if you would like to reserve it for your stay!

Golf cart rate is $75/day for the length of your stay. We gladly offer a 15% discount on the golf cart rate for teachers, first responders and military!

Guest access:
Keyless entry makes check-in and check-out seamless. Door code will be included on day of check-in. The home is located on a peaceful street, which we offers the convenience of being close to the beach and the peacefulness of not being on the main road.

Doorbell cameras are located on the front and back door, but are disabled during your stay immediately following check-in.

Check-in time is at 4:00pm, but we will contact you as early as possible once the home is ready for your stay!

Guests will have full access to the home (with the exception of owner's closet), pool, hot tub, and the ability to rent the onsite golf cart! The private dock is yours to use!

Other things to note
For May 31, 2025-Aug 30, 2025 only accepting Saturday-Saturday bookings. Thanks!

We definitely appreciate Oak Island and we think you will too!

There are so many fun and convenient things located within mins. of the home. Middleton park is a favorite for our kids and we adore exploring the island on the golf cart! The Point at the West end of the island, where the waterway connect to the ocean, is an marvelous place to watch the sunset or to just sit around.

We would be happy to provide recommendations so please reach out with any questions you may have!

How to book the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your Cape Fear area rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Hot Tub & Saltwater Pool! 3min Walk to Beach with Private Dock. Pet Friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
