Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Wrightsville Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Newly renovated top floor condo in Duneridge! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
