Our top Sunset Beach rental home tips:

When to visit Sunset Beach & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Sea Trail Resort--Beach 1 Mile, On Golf Course, Ground Level, Linens Provided has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
