Our top Cape Fear area vacation rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book a perfect Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Island Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
