Tips and Tricks to get the best Holden Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the best rental:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. FINS to the Left - Fantastic Oceanfront Duplex with Large Beautiful Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
