Cape Fear area rental home booking tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefect Cape Fear area rental:
- Start by having your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Gorgeous Home 1 Block from Ocean and Banks Channel has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
