Strategies to get the optimal Cape Fear area rental experience:
When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
