Tips and Tricks to get the best Oak Island vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities.
- In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your Cape Fear area vacation home:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Wave From It All: Island Home with Private Saltwater Pool, Fenced Yard, Fish C has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
