Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 10 Minutes to Toes in the Sand has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
