Discover the relaxing serenity of Bald Head Island tucked within splendid live oaks and over looking Hole #3 on the golf course. Our home consists of four bedrooms each having their own full bath. Three of the bedrooms all have queen size beds and the fourth bedroom consists of two twins each having a trundle. Our home features an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining and living area all on one level. The kitchen is the chefs dream. We are entirely supplied and well equipped! We have a roomy screen porch and a huge broad deck along the maritime forest. We are located on a half an acre, which is not common on Bald Head Island. We are very private although just around the corner from the beach, the harbor and the maritime stores. We have plenty of beach gear, 2 golf carts and wifi.

About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at The Clubs at St. James and Southport Marina. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Get the most from your rental home budget:

• Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
• Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
• Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.

• Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
• During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
• Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review.
