Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a Ocean Isle Beach rental home:

  • Summer is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Tiny Home Paradise has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
