Cape Fear area vacation rental tips and tricks:
Get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. St James first floor Studio unit Golf course view has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
