Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Relaxing ocean cottage on Figure Eight Island has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
