As soon as you step into the warm and bright living room, your eye is drawn to the gorgeous sight of the sea and sky beyond. Sink into the inviting leather furnishings to watch the big game on the flatscreen TV, or gather around the sturdy dining table for meals or a board game. The table comfortably seats eight, with an additional four seats available at the center island in the adjacent kitchen as well as a high chair for little ones. The completely-equipped kitchen features gleaming countertops with plenty of space for meal prep, stainless steel appliances and a farmhouse sink. A half bathroom is located off the living room for your convenience.

The master suite is also located on this level. Furnished with a king bed and a wall-mounted flat screen TV, this room also offers direct deck access and an ensuite private bath with a step in shower stall.

All other sleeping quarters are located on the lower level of the home. On the west side of the home, the oceanfront bedroom provides a queen bed and is connected via a Jack and Jill bathroom with a step-in shower to a second queen bedroom on the street side. To the east, the oceanfront bedroom is furnished with a king bed and is connected via a second Jack and Jill bath to the bunkroom. This bathroom contains a standard tub/shower combo, and the bunkroom has two twin-over-twin bunk beds. All bedrooms in the home are equipped with their own TVs and ceiling fans for personal comfort.

The comfortable spaces and thoughtful touches extend outside, where you'll find dual-level decks on both the front and back of the home. Watch the sunlight play on the waves as you sway on a classic rocking chair or savor an evening drink at the elevated drink table. Or keep an eye on the kids as they splash in the pool from your choice of the covered lower back porch or open upper sundeck. You can also soak in the rays from your choice of two type of loungers arranged poolside along with Adirondack chairs. Grille up the catch of the day or some thick steaks on the park style grille.

When it's time to hit the sand, you'll find the closest public beach access directly across the street, and once the day's adventures are done, washing that sand away is a breeze thanks to the enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Pelican Pants: Ocean View with Great Beach Access, Private Pool has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
