Booking the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the right Cape Fear area rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming and comfortable historic beach cottage! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
