A guest membership to the Bald Head Island Club is available, and can be rented for guest use for an additional fee by contacting the Club directly and letting them know that you are a guest at Sheltering Oaks. The Bald Head Island Club offers elegant dining, a striking private golf course, freshly refreshed pools, croquet, tennis, and a gym. (Disclaimer: Guest Memberships are limited and not guaranteed.)
With no cars and a peaceful island location, Bald Head Island is a unique, calming destination. Accessible only by passenger ferry, this island is a true gem. Visit pristine beaches, climb to the top of the historic Old Baldy lighthouse, or ride your bicycle around the island's tree canopied roads. Stop for a drink overlooking the marina and dine on the waterfront. Once you visit, you'll want to return!
**There is an external security camera on the premises, however it is turned off while guest are staying.
Also please note that there are wild animals on the island. It is not uncommon to see deer, turtles, frogs, toads, coyotes, snakes, and even alligators. Please be respectful of the wildlife and be sure to keep your trash in the designated locked trash receptacles!
