How to get the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer is high season in Sunset Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 806 - 3 bedroom villa adjacent to Oyster Bay Golf Links in Sunset Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
