Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Sunset Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Choosing and booking your Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 400 Argyle Point by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
