Tricks and tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Holden Beach. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Cape Fear area restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4 Bd/3+ Ba East side duplex: Gated community; quiet, exclusive, relaxing, family has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
