Tricks and tips to get the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 3br Coastal Condo Perfect For Family Beach Getaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
