Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing your prefect Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 2 min to Trails End boat ramp & park - Welcome to Villa Nova 2 bedroom apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
