Getting the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Cape Fear area trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Top Level of an Oceanfront Duplex with Private Beach Access and Gorgeous Views of the Ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
