Strategies to get the best rental experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Hobbs Realty - \"Second Time Around\" - A bright and airy 4 bedroom oceanfront home with EV charger has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area attraction you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
