• June, July, and August are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
• Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
• Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
• Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

• Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
• Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

• Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
• Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
• Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
• Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
• Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
• Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
