Tips and Tricks for getting the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • To book the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. NEW! 1108 Ocean Serenity 1-Bedroom Condo with Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
