Tips and Tricks for getting the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Comfortable Cottage blocks from the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
