Cape Fear area rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Ocean Isle Beach rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking yourvacation home:

  • First, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal home with pool access, partial ocean views, outdoor shower, AC, & W\/D has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
