Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Oak Island rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Coastal and modern beach home on Oak Island w/ Central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
