Cape Fear area rental home tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer is high season in Sunset Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful Sunset Beach Condo Colony II has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
