Finding the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Wilmington. To get the best value, shift your family's Cape Fear area trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Battleship Vista - Parking has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
