Tips to get the very best Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. \"Waters Edge 431-A\" - Oceanfront Condo w/ Community Pool, 2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
