Tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in Carolina Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Truly Unique! 1938 Historic Beach House has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
