Carolina Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Tranquil beach getaway just steps from the sand! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
