Finding the best rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Turquoise Turtle -Private Pool, Hot Tub, Ocean View, 2nd Row, 4BR, Kids Area has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
