Getting the best Holden Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Cape Fear area rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental in Holden Beach:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Spacious family home with private beachfront pool and clubhouse has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
