Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Book your Cape Fear area rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 4-8 Bedroom Duplex (\"Sunset\" - Bottom) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
