Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Amazing Views! 8 bed. Sleeps 14. Private Pool. Elevator. Family Friendly has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
