Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. INCREDIBLE LOCATION. Dog Beach. Ocean View. Pet Friendly. Clean & Comfy. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
