Rental home tips:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Front Cottage Pet Friendly with Bhi and Shoals Clubs has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
