Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. High Tide at Coral Reef - Upper 3-bedroom/1 Bath town-home Sleeps 7 w/Linens! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
