Our top Holden Beach vacation rental home tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your Cape Fear area rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Fish-N-Chips by the Sea - Beautiful NEW Oceanfront Home! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
