How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Holden Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Hobbs Realty - “Dreams Come Blue” in this beautiful, six-bedroom oceanfront home with a private heatable pool. has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
