Strategies for getting the best rental experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • Book your Cape Fear area rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Comfortable, bright and sunny beach house. Steps away from beach access. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
