Strategies for getting the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to visit Wilmington & When to book:

  • To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming Historic Empie-Possion Cottage has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
