Tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Cape Fear area rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Charming 2-bedroom in Carolina Beach walking distance to beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
