Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE:
The ice maker in the freezer does not work. The freezer will be outfitted with a bag of ice upon arrival.

The carpet is original to the home (2013) and does have some stains. We clean it at the end of each summer.

The two fiberglass tub/showers have staining near the drains. The floor of the showers dip in those spots, resulting in standing water, which stains the fiberglass. They are not dirty.

The lighting over the master tub looks normal, but in many cases in can make the tub water appear with a green tint. I promise the water is not green!

Strategies for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:

  • First, have your group decide on trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Bright Home on a Private Street has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
